Internshala Google AI Plus: Two Free Routes Compared

Internshala Google AI Plus or Google's own student plan? Who qualifies, Google's 31 December 2026 deadline, the Rs 399 renewal and whether AI Plus is Gemini Pro.

Renaissance-style painting of a walled hill town at dawn with market stalls, a red banner rising above the square

The Internshala Google AI Plus offer and Google’s own one-year student plan are two free routes to Google AI Plus for a college student in India, and SheerID verification decides between them: Google One Help says Google verifies students through SheerID “using a valid school email address”, while the pages describing Internshala’s route base eligibility on your Internshala profile and never mention SheerID. Either way, Google’s India plan page prices AI Plus at ₹399 a month, and the plan renews at that price from month 13 unless you cancel.

As of 16 October 2026, studentoffers.co says Internshala gives India college students Google AI Plus free for 12 months, then ₹399 a month unless cancelled. Google’s own one-year student plan has public terms, last updated 19 August 2026: SheerID verification, age 18+, and redemption “by December 31, 2026”.

What you get12 months of AI Plus at no cost, per studentoffers.co; none of the pages about this route cited here lists unlimited study uploadsA “one-year Google AI Plus student plan” (India student page), running 12 months from the day you redeem; the student page adds “unlimited uploads for Study Notebooks, Visuals and Live”, which the India plan page’s AI Plus card does not listGoogle AI Plus from day one

No refunds for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law.”
Where the terms areNot public: the offer URL returned a 302 redirect to Internshala’s student login when I requested it logged out from India, and no public Internshala page I found has terms for the offerA public page that reads “Last updated: August 19, 2026”Google’s India plan page and the Google One terms it links

If SheerID can verify you, I would take Google’s plan and redeem it before 31 December 2026, because its terms are public: you can read the renewal and cancellation rules before you add a payment method. Google’s student page also lists unlimited uploads for Study Notebooks, Visuals and Live, which none of the pages about Internshala’s route cited here mentions. Internshala’s route is the one to try when SheerID cannot verify you, and on one Google account I would claim one route, not both.

Diagram of two free routes to Google AI Plus for a college student in India, as read on 16 October 2026. Internshala's route: proof through the college and graduation details on your Internshala profile and an India payment method, as third-party pages report; no published last day to claim; no public terms, with the offer page behind Internshala's student login. Google's student plan: SheerID verification using a valid school email address, age 18 or over, redemption by 31 December 2026, public terms last updated 19 August 2026, and a qualifying form of payment at sign-up. Both lead to Google AI Plus for 12 months at Rs 0, with twice the free usage limits and 400 GB of storage, though Google's terms say limits can differ during the offer, then Rs 399 a month from month 13 unless you cancel

Internshala Google AI Plus: What the Public Pages Say

Internshala’s own page for the offer cannot be read logged out. I requested internshala.com/google-gemini-ai-plus logged out from an Indian connection on 16 October 2026, after Cloudflare’s trace returned loc=IN. It answered with a 302 redirect to internshala.com/login/student/%2Fgoogle-gemini-ai-plus, a login page whose visible text does not mention Gemini or AI Plus.

Everything else about the route comes from pages that describe it:

What the page saysWho says it, and when
”Complete your Internshala profile with college and graduation details.”studentoffers.co, undated
”If you’re eligible, free Gemini / Google AI Plus access appears in your dashboard.”studentoffers.co
”One redemption per Google account.”studentoffers.co
”Internshala has sponsored a 12-month extended free trial of the Google AI Plus plan for eligible candidates”, to help “learners and job seekers”coursejoiner.com, 8 October 2026
”Payment Verification Fee Rs 2 (Refunded within 10 days)“coursejoiner.com
”Excited to see Internshala partner with Google Gemini to provide eligible learners with Google AI Plus.”Vishwa Mohan of upGrad School of Technology, on LinkedIn, 8 August 2026

On eligibility, studentoffers.co limits the offer to college students in India, and coursejoiner.com leaves it to “the specific criteria specified on the official redemption portal”. Internshala’s own criteria are not on any public page I found.

How to Claim Google AI Plus Through Internshala

I have not seen the logged-in flow, so these steps come from the descriptions of two walkthroughs, by Tube Rise on 3 August 2026 and Build With Akshat on 10 August 2026:

  1. Create or log in to an Internshala student account.
  2. Complete your Internshala profile. Build With Akshat’s description says eligibility “can depend on your Internshala account, graduation details, region and other offer conditions”.
  3. Open the offer and claim the 12 months of Google AI Plus.
  4. Redeem it through Google and add a payment method.
  5. Before you confirm, look for the free year on Google’s screen: “Always make sure Google shows the 12-month free trial before completing the subscription.”
  6. After activation, turn off renewal if you will not pay from month 13. Both descriptions list disabling AutoPay as a step.

Google’s Own Student Plan: One Year of AI Plus, Redeem by 31 December 2026

Google announced this plan on 19 August 2026 in its Back to School 2026 post: “Eligible college students outside the U.S. can access Google AI Plus, free of charge, featuring increased usage limits, 400GB of storage, alongside bundled discounts on Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium.” The India student page says the plan covers “eligible university students aged 18+”. None of Google’s plan, help, terms or blog pages cited in this post mentions Internshala.

The rules, from Google’s offer terms and Google One Help:

RuleGoogle’s wording
Length”the promoted 12 month period from the day you redeem the Offer”
Which plan”depends on the country or region of your eligible higher education institution”; for India, the student page names Google AI Plus
Age”Be 18 years of age or older”
Proof of study”Verify your student status through SheerID using a valid school email address.”
Account”Have a personal Google Account”; the offer “is not available on your school-issued Workspace for Education account”
Payment”Have a Google Payments account with a qualifying form of payment at sign-up”
Usage limits”you may experience different usage limits than Google One members on a paid plan”
StackingThe offer “cannot be combined with other Google One offers”, except as the terms outline

How to Claim Google’s Student Plan

Google One Help gives the steps:

  1. Go to one.google.com/ai-student. The “Claim a student plan at no cost” button on the India student page links there, and logged out it sent me to a Google sign-in page.
  2. Sign in to the Google Account you want the plan on.
  3. Select a student offer.
  4. Verify your student status through SheerID when asked. SheerID’s student FAQ lists a “School or personal email address” among the details it asks for, and says it may also ask you to upload a school-issued document, such as a “School ID card with expiration date”, a “Class schedule” or a “Tuition receipt”.
  5. Complete the subscription flow, adding a form of payment if you have not already.

Before You Claim: Running Trials and Paid Upgrades

Google One Help sets rules that can cost you a free year:

  • “Signing up for a student offer while on another Google One extended trial revokes your current offer and switches you to the new one.”
  • “If you upgrade to a paid membership from the 12-month trial, you will not be eligible for the trial offer again.”
  • No public Google or Internshala page I read says whether Internshala’s free year counts as “another Google One extended trial”. Until one does, claim one route per Google account.

The first rule matters most if you took Google’s earlier AI Pro student trial. The same help article says Google One offered that 12-month trial “In 2025 and early 2026”, and the India student page lists students “whose 2025 AI Pro trial has expired” among those who qualify for AI Plus. If your AI Pro trial ends before 31 December 2026, let it run out, then claim AI Plus before that deadline. If it ends later, you are choosing between the rest of your AI Pro year and a new AI Plus year, and the help article says students coming off the AI Pro trial “may be eligible for a limited-time discount on regular Google AI plans when your 12-month trial ends”.

Is Google AI Plus the Same as Gemini Pro?

No: Google AI Plus is the plan below Google AI Pro, with half of AI Pro’s Gemini usage limits, 400 GB instead of 5 TB and no Gemini 4 Argon. Google’s pages disagree on whether it reaches the Pro model: Google’s help article on Gemini models lists Flash-Lite, Flash and Pro as the chat models on AI Plus, while Google’s plan pages do not. The same article says higher-tier models “marked with a lock icon require an eligible plan upgrade”, so the model menu in your own account shows which applies to you.

What Google lists for the two plans, read on 16 October 2026:

Where Google says itGoogle AI PlusGoogle AI Pro
Chat models, help article on Gemini modelsFlash-Lite, Flash and ProFlash-Lite, Flash, Pro and Argon
Task mode models, same articleN/AFlash and Argon
Plan card, India plan page”Access to our Flash model""Access to Gemini 4 Argon”, “Access to our Pro model” and “Access to our Flash model”
Models, Google One’s plans FAQ”Gemini 3.6 Flash and limited access to Gemini Omni Flash""expanded limits for 3.1 Pro”, plus Gemini 4 Argon
”Access to our Pro models” row, Google One’s comparison chartA crossA tick
Usage limits, Gemini Apps Help”2x higher than standard limits""4x higher than standard limits”
Context window, Gemini Apps Help128K tokens1 million tokens
Storage, India plan page400 GB5 TB
Google apps, India plan page”Gemini in Gmail, Vids and more""Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Vids and more”

If Pro is unlocked on your account, the help article adds that “More advanced models and higher thinking levels require more of your usage”, and on paid plans AI Plus gets half of AI Pro’s usage (2x the standard limits against 4x), so save Pro for the prompts that need it.

Pro wording turns up on pages about the Internshala offer:

  • Vishwa Mohan’s LinkedIn post says the offering “includes access to Gemini Pro capabilities”.
  • studentoffers.co describes “Gemini app with Pro access”.
  • coursejoiner.com lists “Gemini 3.1 Pro” under “Primary Features Included”.
  • A 9 August walkthrough by Tricky Man, a channel that calls coursejoiner.com its official website, lists “Google AI Pro Subscription Benefits” in its description, including “5TB Google Cloud Storage”.

The first three fit the help article’s list of AI Plus chat models. The fourth describes AI Pro: 5 TB is the AI Pro storage figure, and AI Plus lists 400 GB.

If you need the AI Pro plan itself as a student, Google One Help lists a separate offer: “a Google AI Pro plan at a discounted rate while they remain a student, for up to four consecutive years”, verified through SheerID the same way. The public India pages I read do not print its price. Jio customers on eligible plans have their own route to AI Pro, and my guide to Jio’s Gemini Pro offer also lists Google’s India prices from Free to Ultra. If you are weighing Gemini against Claude as a student, my map of Claude’s routes for students in India sorts them by who has to act.

Not Eligible or Not Working: A Checklist for Both Routes

Google’s Own Rules for the Student Plan

Beyond the age, SheerID and personal-account rules in the rules table above, these lines in Google’s offer terms and Google One Help can block a claim:

  • Supervised accounts: “You also do not qualify if you have a supervised Google Account.”
  • Family groups: “Family group members, unless they leave their shared plan first.”
  • Google One through someone else: you do not qualify “if you currently have a Google One subscription through a third party or affiliate such as Google Fi”.
  • Other exclusions: “an enterprise purchaser, a discounted Pixel bundle subscriber”.
  • An error after verifying: “you may be signed in with a different Google Account to the one that you were using before you verified your student status.”
  • Discretion: “Google reserves the right to determine eligibility in its sole discretion.”

Internshala Route: What Third-Party Pages Report

  • studentoffers.co says the offer is not available outside India.
  • coursejoiner.com says users “who already have an active Google One membership or who have previously redeemed certain trial promotions on their account may see an ineligibility notification”.
  • Build With Akshat’s description names two errors, “Can’t Redeem Offer” and “Something went wrong”, and warns that “The offer may also be temporarily unavailable or paused due to demand.” For both errors, it says to “watch the troubleshooting section of this video before trying again”.

Internshala’s contact page sends students with “internships and jobs related queries” to its Student Help Center.

Internshala Google AI Plus Last Date: None Published

As of 16 October 2026, I found no last date for the Internshala route on any public page. Google’s own student plan has one: 31 December 2026.

Where I looked, logged out from an Indian connection on 16 October 2026:

PageWhat came back
Internshala’s offer URLA 302 redirect to the student login page
Internshala’s terms and its media pageNo mention of Gemini or AI Plus
Internshala’s blog search for “AI Plus""Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms.” A search for “gemini” returned four posts, all about Capgemini
Internshala’s main sitemap57 URLs, none for the offer
Internshala’s Student Help CenterNo mention of Gemini or AI Plus
Google News RSS feed for India, searching Internshala “AI Plus”One item, a YouTube video dated 5 September 2026
studentoffers.coNo date
coursejoiner.com”before the offer campaign concludes”, with no date

Without a published date, there is nothing to plan around on Internshala’s side: if Internshala offers it to you and you want it, claim it then.

Google AI Plus After 12 Months: Renewal and How to Cancel

On Google’s route, the terms say your payment method “will be automatically charged the standard monthly subscription price for the applicable plan included in your Offer for your country, until you cancel your subscription”. The India student page puts that at ₹399 a month, and Google One Help’s student offer article says “You will be notified ahead of the upcoming change.” For Internshala’s route, coursejoiner.com says Google sends a reminder 7 days before the trial ends.

To cancel, Google One Help’s cancel article gives these steps:

  1. On a computer, go to Google One.
  2. Click Settings, then Cancel membership.
  3. Click Cancel membership again to confirm.

What cancelling does, in Google’s words:

QuestionGoogle’s wording
Do I keep the free year? The offer terms say your membership “may remain active until the end of the Offer Period”
When do paid benefits stop?”You will have until the end of the billing cycle to use them”, per the cancel article
What storage do I keep?”Each person will keep their default storage of up to 15 GB at no charge.”
What if I use more than that? You “will not be able to store anything new” until you delete files or buy a plan, per the offer terms

Once a cancelled plan runs out, you are back on Gemini’s free plan: the India plan page lists it with “Access to our Flash-Lite model”, and Gemini Apps Help gives it a 32K-token context window, against 128K on AI Plus. My list of free AI tools for marketing work includes other no-cost assistants. If you are deciding between keeping AI Plus and paying for Claude instead, compare what Claude Pro costs in India before the free year ends.

Internshala Google AI Plus or Google’s Plan: Start With SheerID

If SheerID verifies you, redeem Google’s plan before 31 December 2026. If it turns you down, try Internshala’s route through your Internshala profile; it bills the same ₹399 a month from month 13 unless you cancel.

Set a reminder for month 12 on the day you redeem.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Internshala's Google AI Plus offer free?

For 12 months, according to the pages that describe it: studentoffers.co lists 'Free 12 months of AI Plus (then ₹399/mo)' for India college students and calls the ₹2 payment check refundable. Internshala's own offer page sits behind its student login, so read what it says after you log in, before you add a payment method.

How do I claim Google AI Plus through Internshala?

Walkthrough descriptions and studentoffers.co give these steps: log in to an Internshala student account, complete your profile with your college and graduation details, open the offer, then redeem it through Google and add a payment method. Check that Google shows the 12-month free trial before you confirm.

What is the last date for the Internshala Google AI Plus offer?

As of 16 October 2026, Internshala had published no last date on any public page I checked. Google's separate student plan for AI Plus has one: its terms say the offer must be redeemed by 31 December 2026.

What happens after 12 months of free Google AI Plus?

It renews at ₹399 a month, Google's India price for AI Plus on 16 October 2026, unless you cancel before the 12 months end. Google One Help's cancel article says to cancel on a computer at Google One, under Settings, then Cancel membership.

Is Google AI Plus the same as Gemini Pro?

No. Google AI Plus is the plan below Google AI Pro, with half of AI Pro's Gemini usage limits, 400 GB instead of 5 TB and no Gemini 4 Argon. Google's pages disagree on Pro for AI Plus: the help article on Gemini models lists it among the AI Plus chat models, the plan pages put Pro-model access under AI Pro and Ultra, and in the model menu a lock icon marks models that need a plan upgrade.
