Adobe Student Plan India: Rs 398.99, Then Rs 699.01
The Adobe student plan in India costs Rs 398.99 a month in year one, then Rs 699.01 (adobe.com/in, 31 Oct 2026). See two-year totals, eligibility and free routes.
Over two years, the Adobe student plan India price comes to ₹13,176.00 for a student who pays monthly: ₹398.99 a month in year one and ₹699.01 a month in year two, as Adobe’s India offer terms listed them on 31 October 2026. The ₹398.99 that headlines Adobe’s India students page covers ₹4,787.88 of that total, a little over a third.
Judge this plan by its second year. Even at the renewal rate, the full student bundle costs less over two years than Photoshop on its own, and if your college joins Adobe’s free higher-education offer, you pay nothing for Adobe’s Creative Cloud Pro India for Higher Education licence, which Adobe says includes Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Firefly and Acrobat.
I read Adobe’s India pages logged out, in a fresh browser profile on an Indian connection, on 31 October 2026. I did not sign in, start a trial or reach a checkout. Every price I attribute to Adobe below is one Adobe printed that day; prices from press and reseller pages are labelled with the page and its date.
Adobe Student Plan India Price, Checked 31 October 2026
Creative Cloud Pro for students and teachers costs ₹398.99 a month incl. GST for the first year on an annual plan billed monthly, then ₹699.01 a month. It is for students and teachers aged 18 or older at an accredited institution, new subscribers only, and it starts with a 7-day free trial before the first charge.
The offer terms give both billing options and the renewal rate Adobe lists today:
| Student plan (Creative Cloud Pro) | Billed monthly | Prepaid yearly |
|---|---|---|
| First year | ₹398.99/mo incl. GST | ₹3,999.00/yr incl. GST |
| After the first year (current rate) | ₹699.01/mo incl. GST | ₹7,005.96/yr incl. GST |
The conditions that sit around those prices, in the terms’ own words:
- “A 12-month commitment is required.”
- “This pricing is limited to one purchase of one subscription per customer.”
- At the end of the offer term the subscription “will automatically renew and your payment method will be charged the then-current rate”, and the terms add “Price subject to change at renewal.”
- The offer is for “new subscribers” who buy directly from Adobe or through Customer Support, and the terms state no end date for the introductory price.
The Students and Teachers tab of Adobe’s India plans page repeats the pair: “Pay ₹398.99/mo incl. GST the first year and ₹699.01/mo incl. GST after that.” The same page opens with “you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund.” Prices and offers change, so read the terms again on the day you pay.
Adobe Student Plan India: Two-Year Cost Table
Every input below comes from the same offer terms, which also list Creative Cloud Pro for Individuals and the Photoshop single app. Year 2 uses the renewal rate the terms call current; Adobe can change it before you get there.
| Plan and billing | Year 1 | Year 2 (current renewal rate) | Two-year total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Student plan, billed monthly | ₹398.99 x 12 = ₹4,787.88 | ₹699.01 x 12 = ₹8,388.12 | ₹13,176.00 |
| Student plan, prepaid | ₹3,999.00 | ₹7,005.96 | ₹11,004.96 |
| Photoshop single app, billed monthly | ₹599.00 x 12 = ₹7,188.00 | ₹733.96 x 12 = ₹8,807.52 | ₹15,995.52 |
| Photoshop single app, prepaid | ₹6,899.00 | ₹8,425.20 | ₹15,324.20 |
| Creative Cloud Pro for Individuals, billed monthly | ₹1,199.00 x 12 = ₹14,388.00 | ₹2,714.00 x 12 = ₹32,568.00 | ₹46,956.00 |
| Creative Cloud Pro for Individuals, prepaid | ₹12,999.00 | ₹30,656.40 | ₹43,655.40 |
All prices incl. GST, from adobe.com/in on 31 October 2026. The Individuals tab of the plans page showed the same first-year and regular prices for Pro and Photoshop that day.
What the arithmetic says:
- Prepaying the student plan saves ₹2,171.04 over two years (₹13,176.00 minus ₹11,004.96), in exchange for ₹3,999 up front and ₹7,005.96 at renewal.
- Photoshop alone, billed monthly, costs ₹2,819.52 more over two years than the whole student bundle billed monthly, and the gap is ₹4,319.24 if you prepay both. An eligible student who wants only Photoshop still pays less on the student plan, unless the press-reported free Photoshop year below appears at your checkout.
- The non-student Creative Cloud Pro costs ₹33,780.00 more than the student plan over the same two years on monthly billing.
- Year 2 is where the student price climbs: ₹8,388.12 against ₹4,787.88 in year 1 on monthly billing, a rise of ₹3,600.24.
What the Student Plan Includes
Adobe’s students page lists the plan as Creative Cloud Pro with the same app lineup as the full Creative Cloud Pro plan. Its FAQ names these apps, among others:
| Use | Apps on the list |
|---|---|
| Photo and design | Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Fresco, Bridge |
| Video and audio | Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, Media Encoder |
| Documents and web | Acrobat Pro, Dreamweaver, InCopy, Scan |
| AI and quick design | Adobe Firefly, Adobe Express (Premium) |
On top of the apps, the same page lists 1,000 monthly generative credits for premium AI video and audio features, unlimited standard AI image features such as Generative Fill, Adobe Fonts, Frame.io for Creative Cloud and 100GB of cloud storage.
The same page sets two usage rules:
- “An individual Adobe Creative Cloud membership lets you install apps on more than one computer and sign in on up to two computers. However, you can only actively use the apps on one computer at a time.”
- Desktop apps run on Mac and Windows; the page says they “are not natively supported on Chromebooks”, where only browser tools such as Firefly and Express work.
Adobe’s Education FAQ adds that Student and Teacher Edition products “can be used commercially on your privately owned computer”, which matters if you freelance while you study. Creative Cloud members may also qualify for Adobe’s LinkedIn Premium benefit; I covered its conditions in the free LinkedIn Premium routes for India.
Adobe Student Plan Eligibility in Adobe’s Words
Adobe states eligibility on four pages, and they do not all agree. Here is each rule as printed, with the page it comes from:
| Rule | What Adobe’s page says | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Age | ”Valid only for eligible persons who are 18 or older.” | India offer terms |
| Age | ”available to current students aged 18 and older” | India students page |
| Age | ”you must be at least 13 years of age” | Education FAQ (help centre) |
| Where you study | ”currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution or online platform”, listing schools “(including homeschool programmes)”, degree or professional colleges, universities, post-secondary institutions and “Qualified online courses or educational programmes” | India students page |
| Proof | Adobe “may require you to confirm a school-issued email address or provide valid supporting documentation from the current academic year”, such as “a student ID, class schedule, transcript or a provider-issued enrolment or completion document” | India students page |
| Proof deadline | Buyers on Adobe.com outside North America “have six days to submit your proof of eligibility” | Education FAQ (help centre) |
| Payment | ”The subscription must be purchased with a credit card by someone who is at least 18 years old.” | India students page |
| Payment | Visa, Mastercard and Unified Payments Interface logos in the page footer, read with the Students and Teachers tab open | India plans page |
Two of those pairs pull against each other, and Adobe does not reconcile either:
- Age. The India terms and students page say 18; the help-centre FAQ says 13, and its accreditation footnote names US and Canadian bodies. The 18-or-older line is in the terms attached to this India price, so I would plan on 18.
- Payment. The students page says credit card; the plans page shows a UPI logo beside the card logos. Neither page says whether UPI works for the student plan specifically, and I did not reach a checkout to find out. Gizbot’s report of the student Photoshop offer describes a UPI AutoPay checkout, which is a different plan, so it does not settle the question for Creative Cloud Pro.
What Happens to the Adobe Student Plan After One Year?
The plan renews by itself at the end of the first year, at ₹699.01 a month or ₹7,005.96 a year at today’s listed rate. The students page FAQ says the second-year price applies “so long as you remain eligible (price subject to change at renewal)”.
What happens when you stop being a student comes from the Education FAQ on Adobe’s help centre (last updated 28 April 2026):
- “after student graduates from school, students receive a grace year on the education price.”
- “After this year is over, the subscription is upgraded to a higher non-education price.”
- “Graduated students will receive an email notification about the upcoming price increase 30 (thirty) days before the contract renewal date.”
None of the India pages I read names the rupee price a graduate moves to. The nearest published figure is the current renewal rate for Creative Cloud Pro for Individuals, ₹2,714 a month, but Adobe does not say that is the plan a graduate lands on. Put the renewal date in your calendar either way: the terms require a 12-month commitment and the plan renews by itself.
Is Adobe Free for Students in India?
Not on Adobe’s own pages as a plan a student can sign up for alone: Adobe’s free Creative Cloud Pro for Indian higher education is claimed by an institution, and an individual student gets a 7-day free trial before the paid plan starts. A free first year of Photoshop for students has been reported by the press but was not on Adobe’s Photoshop plans page on 31 October 2026. Four free or low-cost routes are easy to confuse, and only three of them appear on Adobe’s own pages.
| Route | Who claims it | Price | Status on 31 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Creative Cloud Pro for Indian higher education | The institution, by email to Adobe | ”No charge” | Live on Adobe’s page, no dates stated |
| Paid student plan with a 7-day trial | You | ₹398.99/mo, then ₹699.01/mo | Live |
| Free first year of Photoshop for students | You, at checkout | ₹0 for a year, then ₹1,999/yr (press-reported) | Reported by Gizbot on 5 October 2026; not shown on Adobe’s Photoshop plans page that day |
| Adobe Express Free | You | ₹0.00 | Live, “No credit card required” |
The higher-education offer. Adobe’s India higher-education page says “Students get Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Firefly, Acrobat, and more for free” and “No charge. Institutional verification required for eligibility.” An institution qualifies if it is constituted under Indian law, accredited by a competent government or statutory authority, and passes Adobe’s verification. It must have Federated ID set up and email hedindiaedu@adobe.com from its registered institutional address. To the question “Can students or faculty request access directly?”, the page answers: “Participating institutions will communicate the necessary information directly to faculty and students.” If you want it, the person to ask is your college’s IT or administration office.
Adobe announced the programme on 19 February 2026 at the India AI Impact Summit (Adobe’s release), putting Firefly, Photoshop and Acrobat “into the hands of students for free, via accredited higher education institutions across India”. The release names no plan; the higher-education page names Creative Cloud Pro and lists the apps. Both route access through the institution.
The free Photoshop year. Gizbot reported on 5 October 2026 a promotion giving eligible college students an annual prepaid Photoshop plan at ₹0 for the first year, renewing at ₹1,999 a year, set up through a UPI AutoPay mandate, and wrote that the promotion “may end without notice”. Adobe’s India Photoshop plans page showed Photoshop at ₹599.00 a month and no free Photoshop year for students when I read it on 31 October 2026. If the ₹0 price appears at your checkout, the renewal date is the line to check.
The free tier. Adobe Express Free is ₹0.00 with 5GB of storage, and Adobe’s Photoshop plans FAQ says “Photoshop on mobile is a free mobile version of Photoshop with premium features that are available when you purchase a subscription.”
Which Adobe Route Fits You
| Your situation | Route | Two-year cost at today’s prices | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your college has joined Adobe’s higher-education offer | Use the access your institution gives you | ₹0 | Higher-education page |
| You are 18+, enrolled, and need two or more Adobe apps | Student plan; prepay if you can spare ₹3,999 now | ₹11,004.96 prepaid, ₹13,176.00 monthly | Offer terms |
| You are 18+, enrolled, and need only Photoshop | Student plan costs less than the single app; if the press-reported ₹0 Photoshop year shows at your checkout, compare its ₹1,999/yr renewal first | ₹13,176.00 vs ₹15,995.52 monthly | Offer terms |
| You are not eligible and need only Photoshop | Photoshop single app | ₹15,324.20 prepaid, ₹15,995.52 monthly | Offer terms |
| You are under 18 | The India terms rule you out of the student price; use Express Free or Photoshop on mobile | ₹0 | Offer terms, Express pricing, Photoshop plans FAQ |
| You make social posts, slides and flyers, not layered edits | Express Free, or compare Canva first | ₹0 | Express pricing |
For template-based work, my Canva Pro price check for India lists Canva’s rupee plans and its free routes for students. If video editing is the only job, Filmora’s rupee prices on Apple’s India store and from Indian sellers give a single-editor option to set against the full bundle. In my list of marketing tools you actually need, I put Adobe Creative Suite in the “only if design is a core part of your product or service” bracket, and that test holds for students too. If the work is a portfolio site, Framer’s student plan is worth reading before you pay Adobe, and if you are pricing AI assistants alongside Adobe, I mapped Claude’s routes for a student in India separately.
Claims Checked Against Adobe’s Pages
Figures that other pages print, set against what Adobe’s own pages said on 31 October 2026:
| Page and date | What it prints | What Adobe’s page says |
|---|---|---|
| My Mobile India, 20 February 2026 | Student plan “priced at Rs. 400 for the first month and Rs. 2,714 per month thereafter” | ₹398.99 a month for the first year, then ₹699.01; ₹2,714 is the renewal rate for Creative Cloud Pro for Individuals |
| Cloudfy Systems, 27 May 2026 | Year 1 about ₹2,450 a month and year 2+ about ₹3,276, “exclusive of 18% GST”, and year 2 “Reverts to standard individual rate” | ₹398.99 incl. GST in year 1 and ₹699.01 after, “so long as you remain eligible” |
| Cloudfy Systems, 27 May 2026 | Homeschoolers not eligible “(in most cases)“ | The students page lists schools “(including homeschool programmes)“ |
| Adobe’s Education FAQ | Students “must be at least 13 years of age” | The India offer terms say “18 or older” |
| Adobe’s Photoshop plans FAQ | ”Adobe Creative Cloud is not free for college students” | The higher-education page offers Creative Cloud Pro free through qualifying institutions |
| Adobe’s plans page, Students and Teachers tab | ”If you’re not a student or teacher, your price is ₹5,428.00/mo.” | The Individuals tab lists Creative Cloud Pro at ₹1,199.00 a month, regularly ₹2,714.00; the page does not say which billing gives ₹5,428 |
The last three rows set Adobe’s pages against each other. Read the 13-versus-18 row and the ₹5,428 row as open questions for Adobe’s phone line (1800 102 5567, listed on the plans page for purchases and cancellations) rather than settled answers.
Budget the Second Year Before the Trial Starts
The Adobe student plan India price climbs in year two: ₹8,388.12 against ₹4,787.88 on monthly billing, and that second-year bill is the number to plan around. Even with it, the bundle still costs less over two years than Photoshop alone. Before you start the 7-day trial, ask your college office whether it has joined Adobe’s free higher-education offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the Adobe student plan in India?
On 31 October 2026, adobe.com/in listed Creative Cloud Pro for students and teachers at ₹398.99 a month incl. GST for the first year on an annual plan billed monthly, or ₹3,999 prepaid for the year. The renewal rate Adobe lists now is ₹699.01 a month or ₹7,005.96 a year.
Is Adobe free for students in India?
Not on Adobe's own pages as a plan a student can sign up for alone. A free first year of Photoshop for students has been reported by the press but was not on Adobe's Photoshop plans page on 31 October 2026. Adobe offers Creative Cloud Pro free to Indian higher-education institutions that verify and set up Federated ID, and says participating institutions pass the details to their students; an individual student gets a 7-day free trial before the paid plan starts.
What happens to the Adobe student plan after one year?
It renews automatically at the then-current rate, which Adobe's India offer terms list as ₹699.01 a month or ₹7,005.96 a year, for as long as you remain eligible. Adobe's Education FAQ says graduates get a grace year at the education price, then move to a higher non-education price at renewal, with an email 30 days before.
Who is eligible for the Adobe student plan?
Adobe's India offer terms say the price is valid only for eligible persons who are 18 or older, and the students page asks for current enrolment at an accredited institution or qualified online programme. Adobe may ask for a school-issued email or current-year documents such as a student ID or transcript.
Does the Adobe student plan include Photoshop?
Yes. The India student plan is Creative Cloud Pro, which Adobe's students page says includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Express and Firefly among 20+ apps, with 1,000 monthly generative credits and 100GB of cloud storage.
